David Neal is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Knoxville, TN. He has been a therapist in various locations (residential, IOP, integrated care, telehealth with clients ages 5+) since getting an MSSW from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2009. After completing necessary requirements, Mr. Neal became an LCSW in 2016.

This is a second career for Mr. Neal following years of experience in broadcasting. Life experience informs his training and aids in building rapport with clients. For example, an on- the-job injury prompted the change in careers, involved learning to cope with chronic pain, accept major life change and address grief issues.  

Mr. Neal has training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and Aggression Replacement Training (ART). He has experience addressing anxiety, depression, ADHD, Bipolar D/O, trauma and co-occurring disorders. He prefers working with people age 5+ who acknowledge having issues they want to address. Work with pre-teens involves therapist-parent collaboration to deal with concerns.

Mr. Neal uses various therapy modalities to help patients learn to control their symptoms, learn coping skills and return to pursuing life goals that are meaningful to them.
