About Kristian Dambrino
PMHNP-BC
As the Director of Clinical Outreach for Athena Consulting, Kristian Dambrino (she, her, hers) is an ANCC Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing.
With extensive experience treating diverse patient populations with severe and persistent mental illness across the lifespan, Dambrino cares for patients from 12 years of age and older with a safe, family-centered approach. With the understanding that all mental health diagnoses, regardless of symptoms, are often impacted by trauma and posttraumatic stress, Dambrino embraces a trauma-informed care model in treating all individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual identity, or psychosocial circumstances and family of origin. Having frequently worked as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in Davidson County’s Crisis Stabilization Unit, Dambrino prioritizes depth and sensitivity when prescribing for marginalized populations impacted by environmental stressors and acute crises.
Dambrino provides translator services to ensure unique communication needs are met and that each patient is understood and heard. Having managed complex medication regimens and lab monitoring for patients with treatment-resistant schizophrenia who are prescribed clozapine, Dambrino has experience implementing evidence-based treatment in prescribing for severe auditory and visual hallucinations, as well as delusional disorders.
In addition to her role as Director of Clinical Outreach for Athena Consulting, Dambrino is currently accepting new patients as a PMHNP-BC. Dambrino designed and developed an ANCC board-compliant graduate nursing course, Foundations in Psychopharmocology, for American Sentinel University, and has recently developed and presented a CME event, Psychopharmacology for the Non-Psych Provider, at Belmont University for the School of Nursing. She is a guest lecturer for Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, is licensed as psychiatric nurse practitioner in the states of Washington and Tennessee, and volunteers for The Oasis Center, Renewed, Rotary International, Project C.U.R.E., and Habitat for Humanity.
