About Melinda Finch
LCSW
Melinda L. Finch is a committed BIPOC mental health professional with over eight years of experience providing therapeutic care across the spectrum of mental health needs—from serious mental illness to adjustment disorders. She is a Certified Juvenile Sex Offender Counselor and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor bringing a wealth of specialized knowledge to her work with complex and vulnerable populations.
Melinda earned both her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology and her Master of Science in Social Work from Tennessee State University. Following her graduate studies, she received licenses from the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services and the Department of Mental Health to open and operate a group home focused on supporting juveniles with sexually offensive behaviors. Although the group home was ultimately sold due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it marked a significant chapter in Melinda’s mission-driven career.
Since then, Melinda has served in a variety of roles—including Psychiatric Social Worker, Therapist, and Behavioral Health Social Worker—working across multiple states and gaining diverse clinical experience, particularly on the West Coast. Her background spans settings such as tele-therapy platforms, correctional facilities, behavioral health institutions, medical centers, and residential treatment programs.
Melinda believes that people are not inherently bad—rather, their behaviors are often shaped by their environment, knowledge, and experiences. She is deeply passionate about empowering individuals to heal, grow, and break cycles of harm.
Beyond her clinical work, Melinda enjoys cooking, hosting community events, and traveling. She is also the proud dog mom of a Shih Tzu named Bella Faye, who brings light and joy to her life. With unwavering dedication to her community, Melinda continues to advocate for systemic change and individual transformation—one person at a time.
