Josh Richardson, LMSW, is a licensed Master Social Worker who earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Middle Tennessee State University. Josh also earned an Associates of Applied Science in Human Services from Volunteer State Community College in 2001.

Josh began his clinical journey in community mental health where he worked with every age and need that came through the door. A large majority of his clientele during this time were children in the foster care system and their caregivers. In his 10+ years in the social work field, he also has experience in case management, working with seniors and individuals living with disabilities.

Josh specializes in helping individuals find themselves, individuals going through the coming out process, or going through any other life changes. Josh works from a collaborative and eclectic therapeutic approach. He works from a wide range of focuses including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Supportive Therapy. Josh works with clients ages 10 and up, and is passionate about personal identity work, anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders.

Josh has also practiced as a Licensed Cosmetologist for over 10 years while working on his clinical education and working in the social work field, which really sets out a foundation for relating to everyone he encounters. This enhances his ability to build rapport, creating a strong therapeutic alliance in his therapy practice. One trait that is at the center of everything he does is being a naturally empathetic person. He has experience supporting clients across all ages but specializes in working with adolescents and adults.

Josh is a native Tennessean where he still lives with his partner and their dog, Opie.
