Emily Rhoads is a therapist dedicated to helping clients feel comfortable, seen, and free of judgment – because she knows just how hard it can be to reach out for support in the first place. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients understand how their thoughts and actions shape the way they see themselves and the world, encouraging them to examine their life patterns through a lens of acceptance and growth. Emily believes her greatest strength as a therapist is her sense of humor: even in the hardest moments, there’s room for laughter and lightness.

Emily especially loves working with LGBTQ+ clients, those in the kink and polyamorous communities, and anyone who has ever felt “weird” or like an outsider. As a fellow late-diagnosed neurodivergent woman, she has a particular passion for supporting people who didn’t discover they were autistic or had ADHD until adulthood. Her goal is to help clients build executive function and coping skills for navigating a neurotypical world, while also making space to grieve the years spent without the right resources — years that may have felt marked by being “lazy,” “too much,” or “not enough.” And yes, there will be fidget toys waiting for you.

Outside of her practice, Emily spends time with family and friends, keeps her cats close, works her way through audiobooks (her brain moves too fast for reading with her eyes), and bounces between an ever-growing list of hobbies and crafts.
