Rachel Gladys
LPC-MHSP
Rachel is a Licensed Professional Counselor trained in diverse counseling modalities and techniques, creating the foundation for the playful, nurturing, collaborative, and integrated treatment approach she cultivates for her clients. Rachel has pursued more than 175 hours of specialized play therapy training in pursuit of Registered Play Therapist™ credentials through the Association for Play Therapy, the professional organization responsible for promoting the evidence-based and ethical practice of play therapy.
Before joining Athena Care, Rachel served as the Clinical Therapist at Davis House Child Advocacy Center in Franklin, TN, where she was honored to provide counseling services to children and adolescents who experienced sexual trauma and their families. While in this role, Rachel was part of a multi-disciplinary team comprised of local and federal law enforcement partners, prosecuting attorneys from The Williamson County District Attorney’s office, Tennessee Dept. of Children’s Services caseworkers, and forensic medical personnel. As a clinical member of this team, Rachel gained unique experience providing counseling services to clients and their families while assisting them in navigating the complexities of the DCS and criminal court systems.
Rachel has also provided Play Therapy and professional counseling services to clients in school-based settings, on a college campus, at a university counseling center, and in a private practice setting.
When Rachel isn’t at the office seeing clients in the playroom, she enjoys spending time with her family, their two doodles, Charlotte, the goldendoodle, and Nola, the sheepadoodle, and listening to podcasts & audiobooks.
