About Tim Bilbruck
M.D.
Dr. Timothy J. Bilbruck, MD, is a psychiatrist who brings compassion, curiosity, and deep clinical experience to his work with people facing both mental health concerns and substance use challenges. His path to medicine began in the United States Navy, where he served as a hospital corpsman with the 2nd Marine Division and deployed with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit. Those years shaped his understanding of resilience, connection, and the healing power of showing up for others. While serving, he began taking college courses and later earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, completed an Internship in Internal Medicine, and finished his Psychiatry residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis.
Throughout his career, Dr. Bilbruck has worked in a wide range of treatment settings and has cared for people facing many forms of emotional and psychological distress. He approaches each person as more than a diagnosis, believing that our struggles are influenced by the environments we live in, the stories we carry, and the challenges we’ve survived. In sessions, he creates a space where clients feel respected, understood, and free from labels that often add shame to the healing process. His goal is to help people experience relief, regain hope, and build lives that feel meaningful and possible.
A native of Mobile, Alabama, Dr. Bilbruck remains an avid SEC fan and finds joy in the stories of renewal he witnesses in recovery—stories of strength, vulnerability, and transformation. Outside of his clinical work, he values time with family, time outdoors, and the everyday moments that remind him why he chose this field: the belief that people can heal, grow, and reclaim their lives.
