About E. Grinn

LCSW

Waiting room

E is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and provides individual therapy to adults. She is originally from Florida and received her master’s degree in social work from Florida Atlantic University. She has training and expertise in a variety of mental and behavioral health areas, including addiction treatment, geriatric care, child therapy and individual therapy with adults.

Prior to receiving her master’s degree, E was a Certified Addiction Specialist in Florida. She spent time counseling in treatment centers but wanted additional education and training to be able to practice more diverse treatment approaches.

E completed her social work internships at Morse Life Geriatrics (SNF, and nursing home with memory care) and at The Center for Child Counseling. She performed in-home visits for children ages 10 and up and social skills play therapy for groups and individuals 5-6 years old.

E has worked in a variety of roles within the field starting as a Behavioral Health Technician, then providing home care to geriatrics, and moving up to Program Director. Two years before moving to Tennessee, E opened her own private practice. During that time she provided both individual therapy as well as consulting and writing Policy and Procedure for OTPS, IOPs, PHPs, and detoxification facilities.

E is passionate about helping adults ages 18+ using Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help people regulate their emotions, learn to walk with trauma, and cope with depression. She often works with trauma and Narrative therapy in tandem. She is certified in Trauma-Focused CBT, as well.

E believes that people decide to become social workers for a variety of reasons: they themselves have been helped, a close family member has been helped, or they just have a genuine bone in their bodies that wants to help. E identifies with all three reasons.
