Dr. Macy Copple (she/her) is a licensed clinical psychologist and health service provider in the state of Tennessee. Originally from Indiana, she earned her doctorate from the University of Indianapolis and bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Indianapolis (IUPUI). Macy moved to Knoxville to complete her predoctoral internship at the University of Tennessee Student Counseling Center, where she then worked as a staff psychologist for a number of years.

While much of her clinical experience has been in higher education settings working with college and professional students, she has also worked in private practice supporting clients ranging in age from 17 to 70. She is particularly passionate about working with queer folks and has vast experience advocating for the needs of clients in the LGBTQ+ community.

Macy’s style is warm, thoughtful, and flexible. She strives to cultivate trust and nonjudgment within the therapeutic relationship that clients can then transfer into their relationships with themselves. She believes that through this more neutral reframing of thoughts and feelings, individuals can have the power to move toward their unique goals. In addition to therapy, Macy provides psychological assessment and diagnostic clarification using a multicultural and trauma-informed approach.

Outside the office, Macy enjoys what she affectionately calls a “Hobbit lifestyle,” spending time gardening, baking, singing, and enjoying cozy moments with her partner and pets in their home in the woods
