Carmen Elkins is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) who provides inclusive, affirming, and trauma-informed therapy. Her work is guided by empathy, curiosity, compassion, and a deep commitment to social justice and cultural sensitivity.

As a queer clinician, Carmen’s therapeutic perspective is informed by her lived experience within the LGBTQIA+ community. She strives to create a space where all clients—especially those who have felt marginalized or “othered” in the world—can feel seen, supported, and celebrated for who they are. Her goal is to foster a safe, collaborative environment where clients are empowered to explore their stories, embrace their authenticity, and build meaningful change.

Carmen’s approach is systemic, expressive, and somatic. She understands that each person’s experiences, identities, and relationships are interconnected and shape their well-being. Her work integrates Expressive Arts Therapy and Somatic Experiencing®, offering clients tools beyond traditional talk therapy to support emotional regulation, healing, and self-expression. Carmen tailors these modalities to each client’s comfort level and needs, helping them reconnect with their bodies, creativity, and sense of empowerment.

Outside of her practice, Carmen loves rock climbing, reading, and watching crime dramas with her partner. She’s also known to have Kendrick Lamar on repeat in the background. Her personal interests reflect her belief in balance—nurturing both the body and the imagination as essential parts of wellness.
