Dawn Boyer is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.  She has prescribing privileges in Tennessee and Florida.

Dawn comes to Athena Care with over 28 years of nursing experience with the last 19 years as an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner. Dawn started her career in health care as a registered nurse in pediatric oncology and advanced her degree in 2004. She later completed her second certification in psychiatric mental health to further care for those across the lifespan with mental health needs. Her interests include child and adolescent mental health, anxiety and depression, addiction, and a variety of mental health disorders.   

Dawn has completed many roles in her career including inpatient and outpatient patient care, clinical coordinator, and research. She has functioned as a preceptor, and mentor for numerous new and experienced nurse practitioners over the years.  Dawn has been an adjunct faculty in the nurse practitioner program at Regis College since 2019.   

Dawn moved to Tennessee with her husband in 2019.  However, she spent nearly her entire life and career in sunny Central Florida where she raised her three now adult children.  In her spare time, she enjoys time with her husband and family, going on cruises, and spending time outside.
